European Community Shipowners’ Associations (ECSA) and the European Transport Workers’ Federation (ETF) are the EU recognised Social Partners’ organisations in the maritime transport sector. The  organisations have both been involved in the EU social dialogue for some decades and have over the past years successfully carried out a number of actions co-financed through EU funds such as Disseminating training materials for a harassment and bullying-free workplace in shipping.

The ECSA-ETF workprogramme for 2015-2016 contained the following three pillars:

1. Negotiation of the amendments to the ILO Maritime Labour Convention (MLC)

2. Guide to apprenticeship and training programmes

3. Report on Health and Safety
