A special online event will be organised on World Maritime Day this Thursday, 24 September 2020, in the opening week of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly, specifically on the current worldwide crew change crisis.

The event, jointly organised by the IMO, the ILO, the UNGC, the ICS and the ITF, aims to raise awareness about the crisis and to better inform national decision-makers and the general public on the threats to seafarers, shipping and the global supply chain should the situation continues.

ECSA, together with the ICS, urges both EU and national policymakers as well as the whole shipping community to join this high-level event in order to push for concrete actions to resolve the crisis.
